More than the map

When I started this site, my interest was to bring the paddle and mountain plaques in the Trail Building to life, to appreciate which of my friends and family went to the Arctic with others I knew. And to see, on a map, where they traveled.

Recently, after this summer especially, I have come to realize this site should be more than that.

If you haven’t visited lately, there is now a Lost and Found page where sashes and hats can be identified and placed with their group’s trip. Only 141 of 375 trips have theirs placed now.

There are history pages - Camp’s, Woodies, and interviews from the 80th reunion to listen to.

The chapter from A Season for Wilderness is here, too, if you haven’t read it in a while, or have yet to read it at all.

And, as always, if you know about a trip (your’s or someone else’s) please contribute. Photos (group pics and sash or hats images) and routes travelled are key. Now there is also room for additional photos and even “Tales from the trail.”

From any trip’s page, there is a “let me know” button that provides a smooth path for this. More of a BWCA than a Quetico portage, if you catch my drift.

Stay tuned.
